Internal Financial Controls

A sustainable non-profit organization will have appropriate internal controls for the following:

• Monthly financial reports such as a balance sheet, profit/loss statements and cash flow projections.
  
  
• Government reports (Revenue Canada, Alberta Corporate Affairs) contracting with and reporting to funders;
  
  
• Accounts payable;
  
  
• Payroll/time sheets;
  
  
• Petty cash; and
  
  
• Staff expense claims.
